Biography: I started working life in accounting, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and then Information Security Manager and Auditor. Since then I have been involved with companies around the globe, supporting them to be better at whatever they do through the use of technology, improvements to processes, reduction of inefficient tasks and networking. During this time I have gained additional qualifications in marketing, mentoring and am even a qualified karate instructor. In my paid employment I am a Vice President for the UK’s largest software company and manage the team that ensures customers have the software tools they need to meet any legal obligations, remove inefficiencies and expand regionally or internationally.
I joined the Parish Council in 2018 and created a policy framework to help the Council understand some gaps, renew policies that required updates and add consistency (i.e. make things easier to understand). I provided data privacy guidance to the Parish Council (during the introduction of GDPR), wrote the Parish Council’s first formal grant policy and have helped improve other policies. More recently I worked closely with the Parish Clerk to design and commission the new Parish Council website making it easier for anyone to find assistance, keep up to date with local projects, understand who to turn to with issues or even promote local events.
I have lived in Burnham for over 20 years and am a keen supporter of the local community, supporting local activities and events from the scouting association, guiding association, girls brigade, Parish Council, and many other organisations. I have been a board member of national and local charities and I set up a charity in Slough.
