How Burnham is working with the community to keep the streets safe
Supported with funding from Buckinghamshire County Council’s Local Area Forum, the Parish Council started Community Speedwatch in 2017
The scheme is run by the Parish Council on behalf of the community and other parishes in the area, and it enables volunteers to take carry out monitoring on their roads and catch speeding drivers.
The Parish Council in partnership with Thames Valley Police then records the offences, and issue letters to the speeding drivers. If they get caught three times, they may get a visit from a Police officer!
Our teams have been carrying out dozens of sessions, and logged hundreds of offences. But we always need more hands.
If you’re concerned about speeding, and would like to take part, get in touch.
