Burnham's community litter picking scheme

Everyone loves to see a clean, well-kept village and residents from around Burnham are getting together to make a difference.

In April 2018, the Parish Council ran its first Great Burnham Sack Race - a big community litter pick aimed at cleaning up the whole of Burnham in just two hours!

It was a huge success, and in October 2018 and May 2019, we organised two more Sack Races. Together, the events saw over 300 people collect over 350 bags of rubbish!

It was a fantastic achievement, and thank you to all the many individuals, families, and local groups that joined us to make Burnham a place to be proud of!

Our thanks especially South Bucks District Council for their support, and to our sponsors, including: Tesco at the Bishop Centre, Sage Foundation, and Hungry Pets.

We’ll be organising our next Sack Race this Autumn, so watch this space!
