Saturday 21st September saw the presentation of the Pushman Cup, for Best Kept Larger Village in Bucks 2024, to Burnham. The presentation party undertook a bus tour of the winning villages, starting with Burnham, where the trophy was presented on the village green outside Burnham Park Hall.
The Chair of the Best Kept Village, Councillor Bill Chappell, spoke to congratulate the Burnham on its success, and then presented to the trophy to Groundsman Barry Fitzgerald, and Chair of Burnham Parish Council, Cllr Marie Hammon. Marie then spoke to thank the competition judges and organisers, and everyone in the village for their part in the village’s success; including the grounds team, volunteer litter pickers, Window Flowers who supply the hanging baskets, the community payback team, and all of the residents and councillors who contribute to keeping the village looking so nice.
The presentation was followed up with coffee and cake in Burnham Park Hall, where cakes baked by Cllrs Marie Hammon and Pat Bird were greatly enjoyed by all!
